Welcome to my first blog, I’m Emogoddess97. As long as I can remember I have truly struggled with mental illness. And it’s rarely talked about here.
So, in this article will focus on mental health and selling on ATW. We will go through coping strategies, you and your mental health and much more as the article goes on.
I am one of the many people ATW that suffers from mental health problems. And if you're anything like me this site sometimes can be completely overwhelming. The key is to know how to juggle work on ATW and your mental health as well. Working on ATW or anywhere with mental health issues can be a struggle some days. You will feel anxious, depressed, sometimes when self-conscious. These are issues that we don’t touch on normally on the site due to wanting our buyers to have an amazing experience, but I am here to talk about what we are not wanting to talk about.
Coping strategies are a major part of dealing with mental health and juggling selling as well. Here are some coping strategies that I undergo when I’m having a bad mental health day. I take the day off. It’s 100% ok to take a day off and give yourself a break. You’re not going to upset buyers or sellers at all if you are doing what is best for yourself. You should have a clear mindset while selling. Self-confidence knowing you’re beautiful. Do something you enjoy. Drawing, writing, painting, cooking, and playing video games. Whatever your hobby is, do it to get your mind off things and put your phone aside.
These days we are always looking at our phones. Sometimes it’s good to take a day to reset your mind and your peace after a rough day. Take a breath and I promise it will get better. You’re not alone.
Sometimes buyers or sellers can be very disrespectful. The point of the matter is that it can really affect people’s mental health. We are on a site looking at a screen. No one knows what we are going through in real life beyond ATW. So, remember to always be kind to others. No matter what the case may be. Like a post. Comment something nice. Even if you say I think your panties are super cute. And sometimes you have to brush it off, log off, breathe and push forward. If things get really bad, you can always contact the admin and they will help as much as possible. You can also block and report also. Don’t ever be afraid to do the precautions if someone is doing something wrong or if you feel uncomfortable.
Some people on ATW all want and are looking for specific things. From Content to Physical items. With these you have to think what you are comfortable and uncomfortable with doing on the site. Don’t just look at dollar signs. Sometimes doing something we are uncomfortable with can really make our mental health bad. If you are not comfortable with selling an item no matter what the case is, you do not need to. Don’t feel pressured or pushed into something, simply tell the buyer you are not comfortable with doing what they want and move forward. If they still start to pressure you, that’s when you block them. Don’t feel bad for blocking anyone with good reason. Also, it’s amazing to talk to other sellers as well. Talking to people that go through the same thing on a daily basis can be the best thing. My message box is always open for anyone who needs to vent.
No matter if we are doing this part time or full time, we are all human. We have bad days, we get sick, and have human emotions. We shouldn’t be judged. Or said it’s wrong to have it by someone else. If you think you shouldn’t be treating yourself and practising self-care, you're wrong. You are the most important thing on this planet. Because there is only one you in the universe. Which means you should take care of yourself as much as possible. Your mental health is probably the most important thing to take care of. Your mental health can not only affect the outlook on your life. But can affect your physical health as well. I’m here to tell you it will be okay. It’s okay to be human and have standard human emotions. Even when it’s overwhelming sometimes. It’s okay to be you. Be creative and put that into your work. No matter what it is. Be yourself no matter who judges. And I promise I’ll always be in your corner.
We are all here for the same purpose. Either to make extra money or having this as a full-time job. Sellers, we need to stick together. And treat this less as a competition and more of an actual job. I know sometimes it can be super slow and it gets annoying sometimes. But we should all have each other's backs as sellers. If a buyer comes to you and you don’t do what they ask for. Send them to someone who does. It’s the little things we can do for one another to make ATW a peaceful place for sellers to work together to make that money. Also, a place we can build amazing friendships and bonds with one other so we can gain trust and talk about things no one else likes to talk about as a whole. We are a huge community from different countries. But we all have this in common. No matter our backgrounds or anything. So be kind to one another and make each other want to be here. Support each other every day. No matter what. Ask questions, check up on each other, and gain friendships. We are only human but all here for one purpose.
