Hello you beautiful human!
Take a deep breath….1, 2, 3, 4 and out….1, 2, 3, 4.
Mental health isn’t something that comes and goes like a cold. We all have mental health… all the time.
Like our physical health, our environment and routine and plays a HUGE role in our mental health. Here’s 5 things that have helped me on my journey of mental health and wellbeing:
Here are my top mental health habits for a healthy human:
Daylight: Spending just 20 minutes outdoors within the first hour of waking is proven to improve quality of sleep, immune function and energy levels
Exercise: Combine the above with a walk and you’re 2 down already!
Nutrition: Don’t let the momentum stop! As soon as you get home set yourself up for the day with a quick healthy breakfast, large gla** of water and any supplements.
Self-Care: 10 Minutes of self-care as part of your bedtime routine can help you unwind from a busy day and prime you for sleep. (Read to the end for my guide to Self-Care!)
Sleep: Remember, no screens in the bedroom! Have a regular bedtime and allow enough time to get your 8 hours in
Building healthy habits can be hard and I make mistakes all the time (I’m human after all!). When that happens try to forgive yourself and begin again. Every day is a new start.
Being your own boss definitely has its perks but comes with its share of challenges too! Establishing clear boundaries between work and personal life can work wonders.
Set regular working hours: Establish a routine and stick to it as much as possible. This includes having a start and end time to your workday and taking breaks away from screens.
Speaking of screens… Leave them out the bedroom! Having different areas to work and relax not only helps you unwind during rest, but also to be more present when you’re online.
When I first joined ATW, I was really surprised by how supportive and friendly the community was. I had been a seller on other platforms before, but never experienced anything like this! Working online in any job can become isolating. The answer? Community and connection! Always remember:
Be patient: It takes time to build connections with people, but doing so gives you a place to share experiences, advice, and support either 1:1 or in groups.
You get back what you put in: If you want to be heard then first, listen.
Take the initiative: There are plenty of sellers out there looking for the same thing that you are. If you haven’t found a community yet, start one!
We don’t need statistics on average daily screen time to know the reality… We live a Ma**IVE portion of our lives plugged into the matrix, and it comes with a cost.
Don’t get me wrong, that virtual world provides me with an income, Netflix and the opportunity to connect with you lovely people! But being online so much of our lives takes its toll on our mental health.
Unplugging from technology and engaging in offline activities can help us reduce stress, improve sleep and appreciate the beauty all around us.
In our hectic lives, self-care usually gets missed from our to-do lists. Making time for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary!
It’s hard to show love for others when we don’t show it to ourselves. Self-care is different for everyone, here are a few of my favourites:
Meditation: Mindfulness meditation for just 5 minutes a day can be a game-changer for busy brains
Cooking: Preparing a healthy meal can be both therapeutic and nourishing
Taking a bath: Soak in a warm bath with bubbles and an audiobook
Reading: Get lost in a book and take a break from your screens
Yoga: Stretch out those aching joints and remember… BREATHE!
Get creative: Get a piece of paper out and start drawing how you feel. No expectations, no judgement just pure creative magic on a page.
If the above list seems daunting, then don’t worry! Just pick the one you think is most manageable and start there. There are also plenty or self-care resources online that can help. Your health and wellbeing should always be put first and ENERGY is real beautiful people when you look after yourself from the inside out it has a ripple effect to those around you. Now go and treat yourself to some self-care, don’t rush the process and you’d start to see the benefits. Making small gradual positive changes will have a BIG impact in your life beautiful people.
Always remember… you are worthy of love and compa**ion.
Thank you for reading.
Stay wonderful,
Miss Delight x
