Let me start by saying that I'm by no means a top-percentage seller. Far from it, actually.
My time on All Things Worn has been a short one, but a memorable one.
Let's dive in, shall we?!
When I started as a seller on ATW, I admit I was a little overwhelmed by all the beautiful bodies in my feed, and they all had faces attached to them! I, however, had made the decision that to keep my personal life and fetish life private, I would not be showing my face or doing nudity. (Gasp!) Can it be done? Can a seller still sell fetish items and not show their face or do nudes? I was about to find out.
I didn't want to show my face because, well, would someone recognize me? I might know someone here. How is that going to go for both of us? What if one of my family members is on here? How do I spend holidays with them and still look at them the same way? And I didn't want to do nudes because I didn't feel I could compare to the other sellers on here, and I was pretty honestly embarrassed by my own body and showing it off. So feet it was.
My first photo is of me in my office in my work boots, which has since become my signature, but we'll get more into that later.
How was I going to compete with all these amazing sellers that show their face and their boobies? But I carried on; I made my first post and quickly learned that there are buyers out there that join by the truckload and will slam your inbox with messages that they want you to go offsite to chat. I knew I wasn't doing that. But I pushed on and got a message from a buyer who didn't want to see my face or my naked body; he just wanted a pretty precise video. And so it began.
I was then asked to do a sexting session, which I had done before, but not with pictures of my dirty socks as fuel. Numerous buyers had asked me to see my face, but that was a flat no; my standard answer "Sorry, I don't show my face or do nudes." And with that, I was left on read or blocked.
I started to question myself in my decision to show my face or not or do nudes, and I quickly realized that I would be sticking to my plan: no face and no nudes. And the more I posted, the more I interacted with buyers; it wasn't about seeing my face or my boobs as much as it was the thrill of the fetish items I could deliver.
Can you do a voice note? Sure can!
Can you do a script and humiliate me for being a loser while I see only your feet? You bet!
Sock wears have become a pretty popular thing for me. And I don't wear them on my face, so proof of wear photos are admittedly pretty easy to do.
With that, reviews grew, sales grew, and buyers started coming back on repeat. And they still didn't care that I didn't show my face or do nudes.
Now, here's the meat in the middle of all this. I have shown myself to a couple of repeat buyers, but they have paid me well for that privilege. Because that's what it is, a privilege, no one will convince me or should convince you that you have to compromise your plan or what you view as your privacy or security just to show your face.
Now, does not showing your face get tricky? Sure does, there are more creative angles to consider and what do you show if you're not showing your face? Well, for me, it's my feet.
And do I miss out on sales by not showing my face or doing nudes? Maybe. But to me, this is about sticking to my plan. And to be honest, I really like the mystery behind it all. Let's look at it a bit differently. Does seeing my face really matter if you have a foot fetish? I'd guess no because if your fetish is feet, your focus isn't on what I look like, but, well, what my feet look like. When asking for a written dick rating, again, does it matter what I look like when you're wanting a jab at your masculinity? The short answer, to me, would be No.
Now, let's get back to my profile photo. I needed something real quick and had nothing to use, and since I was at work, I had very few options available to me. Hence, let's make it as casual as we can. It has since been an excellent conversation starter and ender. Do I get told that I'm a dude? I do. But that's just stereotyping and immature buyers. Have I been asked to show my face to prove I'm female? Again, I do. Still a flat no.
But it's been an excellent conversation starter that a buyer sees and sends me a message that my boots are hot, and that's why I still don't show my face because I don't have to in order to pique someone's interest.
My journey on ATW is still a short one, but it's been a fun one, and I really want the new sellers to know that it is possible to sell and cater to the fetish community without showing your face or doing nudes. Will you be in the top seller percentage if you don't show your face or do nudes? Maybe.
But don't compromise your plan for the sake of the sale. The bottom line is, will you feel better if you do?
I'm sticking to my plan, no face, no nudes, and I feel good about it.
And do read the blogs, getting other sellers' perspectives on here has been a tremendous asset to me.
